The strategic move expands TAG’s manufacturing capabilities to meet unprecedented demand from global partners and future customers. 

With deep roots in Shelby and the greater North and South Carolina surrounding areas, thousands of vehicles have been produced out of the Carolinas since the Iraq War to aid and protect soldiers. The main facility sits on 110 secured acres with two independently alarmed and surveilled buildings, a live-fire testing range and a vehicle mobility test field. TAG Shelby will have a significant daily manufacturing capacity and this expansion will bring more than 100 jobs to the Shelby, NC. TAG’s additional staffing to the current personnel in Shelby will support $240 million in current orders for armored vehicles over several multiyear contracts.

The TerraHawk mobile surveillance tower enables a single law enforcement officer to operate the observation capsule which may be raised up to 25-feet and offering 360 visibility, enabling law enforcement to observe a situation that would otherwise be blocked from sight. The system allows it to be rapidly and effectively deployed to different areas, thereby disrupting the ability of criminal elements to entrench in new locations.

Terrier LT-79:
The Terrier LT-79 is built using a reinforced and militarized Toyota VDJ79 truck chassis, and COTS components. The vehicle can be built to B6 or NIJ-III protection standards and is powered by a 195 HP high sulfur 1VD-FTV Toyota 4.5L V8 diesel and readily available in LHD and RHD configurations. Using upgraded axles, clutch and a reinforced frame as well as large super single wheels, the vehicle combines excellent mobility and high payload in all operating environments.
